FLORIDA — Two people were killed early Saturday morning in a fiery crash on State Road 520, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. near Kiwanis Island Park Road. Troopers said the driver of an SUV lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole.
The impact caused the SUV to catch fire, trapping both the driver and a passenger inside. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victims. The crash remains under investigation.
