VIRGINIA — A woman and a man were arrested Wednesday after leading police on a multi-county chase that began in Culpeper County and ended in a crash in Spotsylvania County.

According to the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies Burnett and Millson were alerted to a vehicle stolen from Manassas near Braggs Corner Road.

They located the car near Martin’s Grocery Store in Culpeper and attempted a “high-risk” traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, sparking a chase that moved out of town onto Route 666 and Stevensburg Road toward Brandy Station.

The pursuit continued through Brandy Station, Carrico Mills Road, and onto Germanna Highway. Deputy Millson deployed spike strips, puncturing the vehicle’s tires, but the driver continued east toward Orange County.

The suspect swerved around a deputy to avoid a second set of spike strips before Virginia State Police joined the chase as it neared Fredericksburg.

Despite losing tires, the driver continued at high speed until crashing into another vehicle stopped at a light at Brock Road and Germanna Highway in Spotsylvania County, ending the pursuit.

Authorities identified the driver as Cindy Martinez and the passenger as Daezairon Jones, both of Manassas. Both were taken to a hospital for minor injuries before being booked into custody.

Investigators said suspected narcotics were found in the vehicle and are being sent for testing, which could result in additional charges. Martinez faces charges including felony eludingpossession of a stolen vehicle, and driving on a suspended license.

She is being held without bail. Jones, who was already wanted by the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office for larceny, was also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and remains in custody on outstanding warrants.
