
OHIO — Two people were arrested Friday evening after a police chase that began in Garfield Heights ended in a crash in Cleveland, according to authorities.
Garfield Heights police said the incident started around 5:20 p.m. when officers conducting an undercover operation witnessed a drug deal.
As the suspects attempted to leave the scene, officers tried to block in their vehicle.
Police say the driver then rammed an Ohio Investigative Unit vehicle and fled, prompting a chase that ended in a crash in Cleveland.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody at the scene.
Inside the vehicle, officers reported finding 38 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 23 grams of suspected cocaine, eight grams of suspected fentanyl, a loaded firearm, and $3,334 in cash.
The investigation is ongoing.
