
OHIO — More than 5,000 homes and businesses across Ohio are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,193 customers statewide are reported without power out of more than 5.3 million tracked customers. The outages account for about 0.1% of electricity customers across the state.
Montgomery County reported the highest number of outages, with 3,015 customers without power.
Other counties with notable outages include Ashtabula County with 650 customers affected, Ottawa County with 266 outages and Darke County with 181 customers without electricity. Lake County also reported 152 outages, while Licking County had 134 customers affected.
By utility company, AES Ohio reported the largest number of outages with 3,176 customers without power. FirstEnergy reported 1,250 outages, while Butler Rural Electric listed 314 customers affected.
Statewide, officials continue to monitor the outages as crews work to restore service. Ohio currently ranks among the states with the highest number of power outages in the country.
