
INDIANA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Indiana are without electricity Monday morning as scattered outages affected several counties across the state.
According to data from PowerOutage.us, 5,535 customers are reported without power across Indiana out of more than 3.27 million customers tracked statewide, representing about 0.17% of customers.
Among Indiana’s 92 counties, Bartholomew County reported the highest number of outages with 1,930 customers without electricity. Other counties with notable outages included Shelby County with 497 outages, Monroe County with 460, Johnson County with 308, and Henry County with 251 customers without power.
By utility provider, Duke Energy reported the largest number of outages, with 4,152 customers affected among more than 926,000 customers served. Other utilities reporting outages included Indiana Michigan Power with 419 customers without power, Northern Indiana Public Service Company with 290, and AES Indiana with 199 outages.
Statewide, Indiana currently ranks 19th in the United States for the total number of power outages and 20th for the percentage of customers affected, according to the outage monitoring site.
Utility companies across the state are continuing restoration efforts.
