NORTH CAROLINA — A Taco Bell employee was shot and killed Monday evening in Union County, authorities said.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. at the restaurant in Indian Trail. Deputies responding to the scene found an employee suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
According to officials, the suspect fled the area in a vehicle.
Detectives are working to develop a suspect and vehicle description. The investigation remains ongoing.
