OHIO — Authorities are investigating an incident at West Carrollton Elementary School after a student allegedly brought a firearm to school Tuesday afternoon.
According to the West Carrollton City School District, a teacher discovered the weapon and immediately separated the student from it while keeping other students isolated and safe.
The district urged families to ensure that firearms are always securely stored and inaccessible to children. “Safety begins at home,” the district said. “Weapons should always be appropriately locked away in the house. This would include the child’s home and any home a child may visit.”
The investigation is ongoing, and the district said it cannot provide further comment at this time.
