MISSISSIPPI — A street sweeper driver was killed in a crash in Lowndes County on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The accident occurred on Industrial Park Road and involved a street sweeper and an 18-wheeler, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identified the victim as 44-year-old Leslie Williamson.
Officials said the driver of the 18-wheeler did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not released additional details about the cause of the crash as the investigation continues.
