SOUTH CAROLINA — School districts across South Carolina have released updated schedules for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, as lingering snow, ice and hazardous road conditions continue to affect travel in many areas following a significant winter storm.
In Greenwood County, Greenwood School District 50 will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday morning to allow additional daylight and time for road conditions — especially side roads and bus routes — to improve before classes begin.
Other systems have taken stronger measures due to persistent travel hazards. Laurens County School District 55 is scheduled to operate as an e-learning day Tuesday, with students learning remotely rather than attending in person.
In Oconee and Pickens counties, the School District of Pickens County (SDPC) will also continue with e-learning Tuesday, citing unsafe travel conditions following the weekend snow and ice.
Several districts in Spartanburg County have announced full closures for Tuesday. Spartanburg County School District One, District Three, District Six, and others in the area will close schools altogether, with no in-person classes and no e-learning sessions, as they have already used their allotted e-learning days for the year. All after-school activities and athletic events are canceled.
Union County Schools are also scheduled to be closed Tuesday, with makeup instructions to be provided at a later time.
Officials emphasize that decisions reflect ongoing concerns over icy roads and sub-freezing temperatures that have hindered clearing efforts in many communities. School leaders continue to monitor conditions and will share updates for Wednesday and later in the week as needed.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to check individual district websites and communications for the most current information on scheduling and instruction for Tuesday.
