MISSISSIPPI — Authorities in Winston County are searching for a man accused of shooting at a victim and a responding sheriff’s deputy Thursday night.
According to the Winston County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Bobby White Jr.
Emergency dispatchers received a call reporting a shooting on Miller Avenue late Thursday night. When deputies arrived at the scene, investigators say White allegedly fired shots toward one of the responding officers.
A victim involved in the incident was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening.
Law enforcement officers searched the surrounding area following the shooting, but White remains on the run.
Authorities said White is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. Investigators believe he may be driving a black 2020 Chevrolet Equinox with a Mississippi license plate WNJ715.
The Winston County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about White’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
White is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and attempted aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, according to investigators.
