
NORTH CAROLINA — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a store in Asheville while armed with a machete on Monday morning.
Officers responded around 10:45 a.m. to the 200 block of State Street after reports of an armed robbery.
According to investigators, a man entered the store three times before pulling out a machete during his final visit.
Police said the suspect went behind the counter, raised the weapon, and took a bag containing $2,600 in cash before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with blonde curly hair, which may have been a wig. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, blue Nike sneakers, and a white and gray face covering.
