One person injured following stabbing incident at Ohio prison

OHIO — Police responded to a reported stabbing early Tuesday morning at the CoreCivic Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Hubbard, according to authorities.

Officers were called to the private prison on Hubbard Road shortly after 2 a.m.

A prison official informed police that an inmate had been attacked by another inmate using a homemade knife.

The victim was stabbed in the back, slashed across the face, and stabbed in the arm before being transported to the hospital for treatment.

A police report was filed, and the investigation is ongoing. This incident marks the latest in a series of inmate stabbings at the facility over the past several months.
