
MISSISSIPPI — A pedestrian was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after being hit by a train in Hattiesburg.
Authorities and first responders were called to the 100 block of Stubbs Street around 9:33 a.m. after reports that a southbound train had struck a person.
Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian, who was transported to a local hospital. Their condition has not been released.
The train remains stopped while authorities investigate the incident. First responders are still on the scene.
