MISSISSIPPI — Police are investigating the death of a man who was found inside a Moss Point hotel on Tuesday.
According to the Moss Point Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Quality Inn on Highway 63. When officers arrived, they found one person dead at the scene.
The Jackson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 33-year-old Reginald Scott Thomas Jr. of Moss Point. Coroner Bruce Lynd said Thomas died from a gunshot wound.
Interim Police Chief Dennis Stevenson said the investigation is ongoing. Authorities stated that there is no known threat to public safety at this time.
No additional details have been released as investigators continue to work the case.
