OHIO — A 72-year-old man from Bratenahl died after being found in Lake Erie near Edgewater Beach on Monday evening.
Cleveland Metroparks Police, Cleveland Fire, Cleveland EMS, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. after surfers discovered the man in the water.
The victim, identified Tuesday by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner as Albert Lentz, was taken to a nearby hospital where crews attempted life-saving measures. He later died from his injuries, according to Cleveland Metroparks spokesperson Jacqueline Gerling.
The cause of death has not yet been released.
