MISSISSIPPI — A 79-year-old man was found dead Friday afternoon near a submerged truck and trailer at Tunica Lake, the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Authorities said Pafford Emergency Medical Services notified the sheriff’s office around 1:40 p.m. about a possible drowning at Nel-Win Camp on the Tunica Cutoff.

When deputies and first responders arrived, they discovered a fully submerged truck and trailer in the water and the unresponsive man on the lake’s bank.

Deputies provided medical treatment at the scene, but the man, identified by next of kin as John Reeves of Tunica, was pronounced dead by the Tunica County Coroner.

The sheriff’s office said the incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office at 662-363-1411.
