MISSISSIPPI — One person was killed and three others injured in a shooting Saturday evening at the College Villa Apartments on Ladnier Road, Gautier police said Monday.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 6 p.m. during a fight inside one of the apartments, where multiple shots were fired. Three people inside the apartment were struck, and a fourth person in a neighboring apartment was hit by a bullet that passed through the wall.
Two victims were transported to hospitals by ambulance, while two others were taken in personal vehicles. One victim, an 18-year-old male from Gautier, died at the hospital. The other victims include a 15-year-old male from Gautier, an 18-year-old male from Ocean Springs, and a 31-year-old female from Gautier.
Police said the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigators are actively working to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible.
