FLORIDA — A 27-year-old woman was killed in a wrong-way crash early Wednesday morning in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash happened at the intersection of Kepler Avenue and Mimosa Lane.

According to investigators, a Ford Edge was traveling north in the southbound lane on Kepler Avenue when it collided head-on with a Honda Civic that was traveling south.

The woman driving the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said.

The driver of the Ford Edge, a 33-year-old man, was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with minor injuries.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
