VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday, September 16, at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Valley Ridge Road, about half a mile east of Smokey Bear Lane.
According to authorities, a 2024 Kia Sportage traveling west crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2015 Dodge Dart. The driver of the Dodge, 72-year-old Angela Sizemore Anderson of Covington, was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was transported to LewisGale Hospital Alleghany, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the Kia was also taken to LewisGale Hospital Alleghany for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Charges in connection with the incident are pending, and the crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
