OHIO — One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Clark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers from the Springfield Post were dispatched just before 5:10 a.m. to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Summerford Road.

Investigators said a 2018 Audi Q3 was traveling south on Summerford Road when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia semi headed southwest on U.S. 42. The impact pushed the Audi into a 2015 Nissan Rogue that had been traveling northeast on U.S. 42.

The Audi’s driver, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene. A front-seat passenger in the Audi was taken to Grant Medical Hospital with serious injuries.

The Nissan’s driver and passenger, both 60 and from South Charleston, were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The semi’s driver, a 46-year-old man from Warren, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
