
OHIO — A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of US-50 and Concord Church Road, resulting in the death of a Londonderry man.
The crash was reported around 2:00 p.m. at mile marker 30.5.
According to initial reports, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, driven by Kenneth James, 36, was traveling eastbound on US-50 when the vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree line, and came to rest partially submerged in a nearby creek.
A witness called 911, reporting that the driver appeared unresponsive. Emergency crews responded promptly and began extricating James from the vehicle, requesting a medical helicopter to the scene.
Despite efforts that included CPR and other life-saving measures, James was pronounced dead at the scene by Liberty Township EMS.
The highway was shut down in both directions following the crash.
Personnel from Liberty Township Fire/EMS, Scioto Township Fire/EMS, the V.A. Fire Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Further details have not yet been released.
