SOUTH CAROLINA — A Simpsonville man was killed Saturday evening in a head-on crash involving a motorcycle and a van in Greenville County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 7 p.m. on West Georgia Road near Reedy Fork Road. A 2006 Honda motorcycle and a 2004 Toyota minivan collided head-on.
The motorcyclist, identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as 56-year-old Todd Michael Nelson, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say he died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the minivan was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
An external examination is scheduled for Monday.
