OHIO — A 35-year-old man was killed Friday evening in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer in Meigs County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred just before 7 p.m. along U.S. Route 33. A preliminary investigation determined that a tractor-trailer was attempting to back into a private lot off the highway when a car struck the truck.

The driver of the car was identified as Anthony Delong, 35, of Surfside, South Carolina. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was treated at the scene and did not require transport to a hospital, troopers said.

U.S. Route 33 was closed for approximately four hours while emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
