One person dead after being struck by two vehicles in Ohio

OHIO — A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by two vehicles in northeast Columbus, according to police.

The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on Cleveland Avenue, south of East Weber Road.

Police say an adult ran into the roadway and was hit by a dark-colored sedan traveling southbound.

While the pedestrian was still on the ground, a second vehicle also struck them.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene, while the second driver remained and cooperated with authorities.

The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Their identity has not yet been released.
