MISSISSIPPI — A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train while walking on railroad tracks in Biloxi on Wednesday morning, according to police.
The incident happened around 7:55 a.m. near Irish Hill Drive and Rodenberg Avenue. Authorities said the train was traveling westbound at the time of the collision.
Police reported that the scene was cleared by approximately 9:30 a.m., and the train had resumed its route.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation as officers continue working to reconstruct what happened.
