MISSISSIPPI — A driver was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after crashing in a hotel parking lot while experiencing a medical emergency, according to Pearl police.
Officers with the Pearl Police Department responded to the Best Western hotel in Pearl after receiving reports of a crash involving a truck. Pearl Police Chief Nick McLendon said the driver was suffering from a medical situation at the time of the wreck.
When officers arrived, they found the driver unconscious behind the wheel of the truck. Police were able to gain entry into the vehicle and determined the driver was experiencing a medical emergency.
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Authorities said the individual appeared to be alert while being loaded into the ambulance, but their condition has not been released.
No other injuries were reported.
