OHIO — An Oregon man is facing charges after deputies say he was caught driving under the influence in Logan County Saturday night.
According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped 56-year-old Timothy Hoebel on State Route 117 near State Route 366 after noticing his white Ford F-150 crossing the fog line several times.
When officers attempted to pull him over, Hoebel’s truck continued for a short distance before veering into a ditch and coming to a stop. Deputies said he showed multiple signs of intoxication and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
A search of his vehicle uncovered a mostly empty water bottle containing a red liquid with the strong odor of alcohol. Hoebel was taken to the Logan County Jail, where a breath test registered his blood alcohol content at .215, nearly three times Ohio’s legal limit of .08.
He was cited for Operating a Vehicle While Impaired (OVI) and remains in custody.
