
MISSISSIPPI — Authorities have identified the suspect in a stabbing at a New Augusta gas station.
New Augusta Police Chief Terry Partin confirmed the suspect is 27-year-old Colton Yawn, who faces one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim, who was stabbed inside the store around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, is reported to be in stable condition.
Yawn was located near Highway 29, just south of New Augusta, following the incident. He is expected to be interviewed and possibly arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
Police have not released information about the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the victim.
