
MISSISSIPPI — A 19-year-old man is facing kidnapping and attempted sexual assault charges following an incident in Oxford, according to police.
The Oxford Police Department said officers received a walk-in report from a woman who said she was the victim of an attempted sexual assault.
Investigators said the victim had been walking home in downtown Oxford along University Avenue when a driver approached her and offered her a ride. According to police, the driver instead took the woman to another location, where he held her against her will and attempted to sexually assault her.
Following an investigation, officers arrested Keilun Lewis, 19, in connection with the incident.
Lewis has been charged with kidnapping and attempting to commit an offense of rape, according to authorities.
Police said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
