SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities say a months-long investigation has led to a major drug bust and the arrest of a Greenville County man on multiple trafficking charges.
The Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit announced Friday that Irby Jarrard Watkins was arrested on Sept. 4 following an extensive probe that began in May.
During the investigation, officers seized:
- 21.64 pounds of marijuana
- 1,508.09 grams of cocaine
- 39.5 grams of heroin
- 563.32 grams of fentanyl
- 2 firearms
- $4,176 in cash
In addition, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) executed a related search warrant at an address in Duncan. That search resulted in the seizure of another 521 grams of fentanyl.
Authorities said one of the searches was conducted at Watkins’s secondary home on Kingsley Drive.
Watkins is now facing several drug trafficking charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
