OHIO — A traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Shelby County Thursday led to the discovery of suspected drugs, according to Sheriff James Frye.

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle at mile marker 99 for a traffic violation. During the stop, K9 Bandit conducted a sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

The driver was identified as Aaron Kreutzer of Dayton, and the passenger as Michael Jergens-Kreutzer of Dayton.

A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered a large bag containing several zip-lock bags with about 4.5 pounds of suspected marijuana and a half-pound of suspected psychedelic mushrooms.

Deputies also found a large box holding 50 THC vapes and a small bag of dispensary marijuana products, Frye said.

All items were seized and will be sent to a lab for testing. Charges are pending the results of that analysis.

“The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to keeping illegal and dangerous drugs out of our community. We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity to help ensure the safety of our county,” Frye said.
