
NORTH CAROLINA — A traffic stop conducted by the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad on Wednesday, July 16, led to the arrest of a man after officers discovered a significant amount of methamphetamine.
The stop occurred on McDaniels Street, where K-9 Kio performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted officers to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered more than 38 grams of methamphetamine.
Police arrested 31-year-old Jyair Smith, who was transported to the Lenoir County Jail.
He is facing charges of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine and Trafficking Methamphetamine.
The investigation is ongoing.
