
KENTUCKY — A Mount Vernon woman was arrested on July 26 following a traffic stop near the intersection of I-75 and Kentucky 909, about 10 miles north of London.
According to authorities, 48-year-old Lorie Lee Smith was driving a silver Nissan Rogue when she was stopped and found to be under the influence.
Officers discovered suspected fentanyl, oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Smith, a resident of Chestnut Ridge Road, was arrested and charged with public intoxication involving controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (fentanyl), possession of a substance in the first degree (first offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She is currently being held at the Laurel County Correctional Center.
