TENNESSEE — A man is facing multiple charges after authorities discovered drugs during a traffic stop in Putnam County, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office said they were investigating a community complaint about a suspected drug house on Cane Creek Road on Thursday when they saw a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road.

Investigators initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled into the driveway of the suspected home.

Authorities said detectives found 44-year-old Denton Boswell in the driver’s seat with a woman lying across his lap. When deputies approached, Boswell allegedly refused to comply with orders to exit the vehicle.

Detectives removed Boswell from the car and discovered the woman was unresponsive and did not have a detectable pulse. Deputies administered Naloxone before emergency medical crews arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital.

During the investigation, detectives said they found about five grams of suspected fentanyl, 19 pills believed to be Xanax and four grams of suspected cocaine.

Boswell was arrested and charged with two counts of manufacturing, selling or delivering Schedule II drugs, manufacturing or delivering Schedule IV drugs, third-offense DUI, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, failure to maintain lane of travel and possession of an open container.

He was booked into the Putnam County Jail on a $123,000 bond, according to authorities.
