MISSISSIPPI — Rankin County deputies arrested a man following a home invasion at the Alpine Mobile Home Park off Old Fannin Road on September 6, 2025.
Deputies said the homeowner was awakened around 11:30 p.m. by Charles Lovorn, Jr., banging on her front door. When she refused to open it, Lovorn reportedly broke the front door window, reached inside, and unlocked the door.
Once inside, deputies said Lovorn and the homeowner argued, and he broke multiple items in the living room. He then left the home, retrieved a 9mm handgun, fired two shots, and fled the area.
A deputy located Lovorn’s vehicle around 1 a.m. on September 7 at the Lakeshore Pointe Apartment complex north of Spillway Road.
When deputies made contact, Lovorn initially refused to exit his apartment, leading to a short standoff. He later surrendered and was charged with burglary, malicious mischief, and discharging a firearm within a plated subdivision.
Lovorn is being held at the Rankin County Detention Center on a $170,000 bond.
