IOWA — A Toledo, Ohio man died after being struck on Interstate 80 in Poweshiek County, authorities said.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that 36-year-old Nicholas Andres Quintero was in the number 2 lane of westbound I-80 near mile marker 202, close to the Iowa Highway 21 exit south of Carnforth, when he was hit by an unknown vehicle.
Officials said the driver may not have realized they struck a pedestrian.
Quintero was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
