EAST CLEVELAND — An East Cleveland police officer has been found guilty of several criminal charges following a jury trial in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
Ian McInnes, 41, was convicted of attempted felonious assault, three counts of assault, three counts of interfering with civil rights, and three counts of dereliction of duty.
McInnes was one of 11 current or former East Cleveland police officers indicted in March 2023 by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury on charges related to civil rights violations and public corruption.
The crimes, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley, occurred between February 2020 and July 2022, involving multiple victims.
McInnes is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 14.
He sexually assaulted me in may 2022 in a park in E.C ,fake arrest for a traffic violation,took my out of my car and cuffed me,put me in a police car and drove me to some park or wooded area.and made me do oral sex and anal sex.he beat me and said he’ll kill me if I said anything.i remember his face,that’s him,and his smell.After he was done he took me back to where my car was on the street by Mc Donald’s off Euclid and made me walk.
