OHIO — Gas prices across Ohio have dipped slightly compared to yesterday, but drivers are still paying significantly more than they did a year ago. According to data from AAA, the statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Ohio is currently $3.886, down from $3.912 on Friday.

Despite the small decline, Ohio’s average remains well above last month’s price of $3.442 and substantially higher than the $3.027 average recorded a year ago. Mid-grade gasoline in Ohio is averaging $4.423 per gallon, premium fuel sits at $4.939, and diesel fuel is averaging $5.417 statewide.

Price changes vary across different regions of the state. In the Akron area, regular gasoline is averaging $3.895 per gallon, while drivers in the Canton–Massillon region are paying about $3.924.

In Columbus, the average stands at $3.914, and in Cleveland it is $3.888. Cincinnati drivers are paying slightly less, with an average price of $3.863, while motorists in Dayton are seeing prices around $3.876.

The state’s highest recorded average price for regular unleaded fuel was $5.065, reached on June 9, 2022. Diesel prices peaked at $6.114 on June 21, 2022.

Nationally, gas prices remain elevated amid high crude oil prices, which continue to influence fuel costs at the pump. Industry analysts note that while minor day-to-day fluctuations may occur, overall prices remain well above levels seen one year ago.
