TENNESSEE — Multiple school systems across northeast Tennessee will operate on delayed schedules Thursday, December 11, due to weather-related concerns affecting morning travel.
Hawkins County Schools announced they will open two hours late. Carter County Schools also reported a two-hour delay for all campuses.
Johnson County Schools in Mountain City and Unicoi County Schools in Erwin likewise confirmed two-hour delays.
The decisions were made out of caution, as winter weather and cold temperatures may create hazardous road conditions during the early morning commute. Families are encouraged to monitor school communication channels for any updates or additional schedule changes.
