MISSISSIPPI — Students at South Jones Middle School and South Jones High School in Ellisville are dismissing early on Friday due to a water main break in the area, according to school officials.
Officials said South Jones Middle School and South Jones High School began dismissing students at 10:30 a.m. as a precaution while crews work to repair the broken water main. Administrators said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure student safety during the repair process.
Parents and guardians were advised that students who are car riders needed to be picked up by 10:15 a.m. School officials did not indicate when normal operations are expected to resume.
Meanwhile, South Jones Elementary School was not affected by the issue and will not dismiss early at this time.
School officials said they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if conditions change.
