Across central and northern Indiana, including the Indianapolis metropolitan area and surrounding counties, forecasters are calling for a 40 % chance of snow mainly between about 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., with total snow accumulations generally less than an inch. In the Indianapolis area specifically, snowfall is expected mostly during the late morning into the early afternoon, with a coating to around an inch of new snow possible.

Further north toward Fort Wayne, the chance of measurable snow Tuesday is lower at about 20 % before early afternoon, and any accumulation there is likely to remain light. In southwest Indiana and near Evansville, a mixture of precipitation, including snow, wintry mix and drizzle, may occur before midday, but little or no significant snow accumulation is expected given milder temperatures.

In some northern counties, local advisories suggest 1–3 inches possible where bands of steadier snow set up, particularly closer to Lake Michigan, though most of the state will see lighter amounts.

Overall, the Tuesday event is expected to bring light snow with minor impacts, mainly during the morning and early afternoon, and travel conditions should remain manageable, though slick spots are possible on untreated roads.
