WASHINGTON — As Hurricane Milton approaches, Vice President Kamala Harris highlighted the federal government’s preparedness efforts.

In a White House briefing with VP Harris and President Biden on Wednesday afternoon, Harris said that federal, state, and local agencies have been “working around the clock” to ensure resources are efficiently coordinated.

She also reassured the public that once the storm passes, recovery and rebuilding efforts will be promptly supported by the government.

“We will be there to help folks recover and rebuild,” Harris said in during the briefing.

Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in the Tampa area of Florida Wednesday evening.

Ohio will not see effects from Milton.
