Five people arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Five people are facing multiple drug and weapons charges after police executed search warrants at two locations in Reidsville, according to authorities.

The Reidsville Police Department Narcotics Unit carried out the warrants on South Main Street and East Morehead Street on April 1.

Edward Ebo Jr., 44, faces the most serious charges, including felony cocaine trafficking, possession of a firearm by a felon, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $125,000 secured bond.

Anitra Michelle Hooper, 48, is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, trafficking opium, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. She received a $100,000 secured bond.

Orek Hooper, 26, is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, trafficking opium, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia and marijuana paraphernalia. He was also given a $100,000 secured bond.

Jiheem Dionta Hooper, 24, faces charges including felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000.

Nevaeh Womack, 21, is charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. She received a $10,000 secured bond.

Authorities said K-9 Harley, a yellow Labrador trained in narcotics detection, assisted officers by alerting to the presence of illegal drugs during searches of a vehicle and a residence.

All five suspects are scheduled to appear in court on April 6.

Police encourage anyone with information about drug or criminal activity to submit anonymous tips by texting ROCOTIPS to 738477 or by calling Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 336-349-9683. Officials noted that rewards of up to $5,000 may be available.

The investigation remains ongoing.
