KENTUCKY — Police are investigating after a body was recovered from the Ohio River on Friday afternoon, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said a tug boat operator reported seeing the body around 4:30 p.m. just north of the Belle of Louisville.
The LMPD River Unit responded and pulled the body from the water.
Police said the person’s gender, race, and age have not yet been determined, but confirmed the individual was “obviously deceased.”
The LMPD Homicide Unit has opened a death investigation. No further details have been released.
