
ALABAMA — Eight people were arrested Tuesday after Decatur police executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of 5th Avenue SW, according to the Decatur Police Department.
The search was carried out on July 15 by the department’s SWAT Team and additional officers following an extended investigation.
During the search, police said they discovered methamphetamine, crack cocaine, synthetic marijuana, prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and multiple firearms.
Dwain Turner Jr. was arrested and charged with two counts of distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $31,900 bond.
Seven others were taken into custody on various lesser charges, including tampering with physical evidence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of prescription drugs, promoting prison contraband, and loitering in a drug house.
Police said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
