MISSISSIPPI — A Powerball ticket sold in Mississippi won $50,000 in Saturday night’s drawing, according to lottery officials.
The drawing was held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, and the winning numbers were 5, 8, 27, 49, 57, with a Powerball of 14. The Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 4x. The Mississippi ticket matched enough numbers to secure the $50,000 prize.
Officials have not yet released the location of the retailer where the winning ticket was sold. Winners are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and contact the Mississippi Lottery to begin the prize claim process.
No ticket matched all six numbers in the drawing, so the jackpot rolled over. The estimated jackpot for the next drawing now stands at $193 million, with a cash value of $87.9 million.
Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mississippi Lottery officials remind players that all prizes must be claimed within the timeframe established by state law.
