FLORIDA — A suspect is in custody after a man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in Lake Wales, according to police.
The Lake Wales Police Department said the shooting occurred around 1:12 p.m. on South 9th Street. Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the suspected shooter, described as a young adult, later turned himself in and was being questioned by detectives.
Investigators have not identified a motive but said the incident may have followed an argument.
The investigation is ongoing.
