FLORIDA — A 17-year-old Jacksonville boy has been arrested after police say he fatally stabbed his father during an incident Tuesday evening.
District 4 officers were called to a home on Wheeler Avenue near Blanding Boulevard just before 7 p.m. When they arrived, they found Jervas Williams suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives reviewed evidence and interviewed people at the home. Investigators quickly identified the victim’s son, Syr Williams, 17, as the suspect.
Police said Williams was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and is being held at the Duval County jail.
Authorities expressed condolences to the family and said the investigation is ongoing as they work to bring justice in the case.
