
OHIO — A worker at a Ford Motor Company transmission plant in Sharonville died Monday morning after being pinned by machinery during an industrial accident, according to police.
Officers responded to the plant around 9:45 a.m. after receiving a report of a workplace incident.
Investigators said a press machine that was undergoing routine service inadvertently turned on, pinning a worker inside the equipment.
First responders were able to free the worker and performed life-saving measures at the scene. The individual was then transported to a local hospital.
Police said the worker was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Officials said the incident is being treated as an industrial accident.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Ford administrative staff are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
