OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon on US Route 20 in Pittsfield Township.
Troopers responded to the scene near the intersection of Quarry Road at approximately 4:47 p.m.
According to the patrol, 53-year-old Stephen Maag of Milan was driving a 2019 Peterbilt 579 westbound when a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 51-year-old Tammy Alam of North Olmsted, veered left of center into the westbound lane.
Alam’s vehicle collided head-on with Maag’s semi-truck.
Upon impact, her vehicle veered off the north side of the roadway and struck a snowmobile that was for sale in a yard nearby.
Alam was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. US Route 20 remained closed for about six hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
While the cause of the crash is still under investigation, troopers stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the incident.
